Johannes 10,27-30
Vor langer Zeit herrschte in Arabien der König Hatim Tai. Ein anderer König wollte ihm sein Reich wegnehmen. Um unnötiges Blutvergießen der Seinen zu vermeiden, trat Hatim Tai zurück und zog sich in eine einsame Berggegend zurück. Doch der neue König konnte sich nicht an den Gedanken gewöhnen, dass sein Vorgänger noch am Leben ist und setzte deshalb eine Belohnung von 5000 Goldstücken aus, um den alten König zu fangen. Eines Tages vernahm Hatim Tai in seiner Höhle das Gespräch eines armen Holzfällers, das er mit seiner Frau führte wegen der ausgesetzten Belohnung. Zusammen mit dem Holzfäller trat er vor den neuen König und stellte sich, um der armen Familie die 5.000 Goldstücke zu sichern. Von soviel Großzügigkeit war der fremde König so überwältigt, dass er mit seinem Heer abzog und Hatim Tai wieder den Thron überließ. Könige trugen früher den Ehrentitel Hirte des Volkes. Wir kennen einen, der nicht nur sein Leben für die Menschen riskiert hat, sondern es auch tatsächlich hingegeben hat.
1. Der gute Hirt sorgt für die Schafe, die ihm anvertraut sind. Es gibt aber noch andere Schafe, die nicht aus dem gleichen Pferch sind, auch sie muss er rufen und sich um sie kümmern. Er kennt sie und sie folgen seiner Stimme. Im hl. Land ging der Hirt stets seiner Herde voraus, und stieß von Zeit zu Zeit einen Laut aus, der typisch für seine Herde war oder er blies eine Melodie auf der Flöte. Auch Überfälle und wilde Tiere können der Herde nichts anhaben. Denn der Schäfer schützt und verteidigt seine Tiere. Ja, er gibt sogar sein Leben für sie hin. Wir erfahren, dass der Menschenhirt Jesus Christus ist, der mit dem Vater eins ist. Deshalb hat er ihn auch von den Toten auferweckt und schenkt denen, die ihm folgen ebenfalls „ewiges Leben“. Wie der Sohn in der heiligen Dreifaltigkeit eins ist mit dem Vater und dem Heiligen Geist, so sollen auch die Menschen einer Gemeinde ein Herz und eine Seele sein. Die Mitglieder einer guten Familie, werden sich immer wieder bemühen, gemeinsam die Mahlzeiten einzunehmen und sich gegenseitig zu helfen und zu unterstützen. Auch in unserer Zeit sind die Gemeinschaft der Familie und die Gemeinschaft der Gemeinde und Kirche von reißenden Wölfen bedroht.
2. Der Herr hat Paulus und Barnabas aufgetragen: „Ich habe dich zum Licht für die Völker gemacht, bis an das Ende der Erde sollst du das Heil sein.“ Das heißt, dass sie ihre Berufung darin sehen, das Evangelium vom Guten Hirten, der sein Leben hingab für seine Schafe, bei den Heiden zu verkünden. Das brachte ihnen aber seitens ihrer Landsleute nicht nur Eifersucht, sondern auch Verfolgung ein. Es hat damals schon Leute gegeben, die gegen die Glaubensbooten hetzten. Und es gelang ihnen sogar sie aus ihrem Gebiet zu vertreiben. Sie aber schüttelten den Staub von ihren Füßen und wandten sich einem anderen Gebiet zu.
3. In der Offenbarung sieht der Seher eine große Schar aus allen Nationen und Stämmen, Völkern und Sprachen, die sich um den Thron und um das Lamm versammeln, um zu dienen und anzubeten.
Mit dem Lamm ist der auferstandene und verklärte Christus gemeint, eben das Osterlamm, das Tod und Sünde besiegt hat. - Auch hier haben wir wiederum den Grundgedanken, dass das Heil für alle Menschen bestimmt ist, die durch die Botschaft der Jünger und Missionare zum Glauben kommen. „Das Lamm wird sie weiden und zu den Quellen führen, aus denen das Wasser des Lebens strömt, und Gott wird alle Tränen von ihren Augen abwischen. Die Gott anbeten hatten ihrerseits große Drangsale und Bedrängnisse durch zu stehen.
Die Menschen, die zu Boten Gottes bestellt sind, ob dies im priesterlichen, bischöflichen oder Laiendienst in der Kirche ist, werden immer Angriffen ausgesetzt bleiben. Alle Welt schlägt Gottes Boten. Wer Jesus nachfolgt, wird von der Welt immer geschlagen werden, weil er sich kraft seines Auftrages einmischen muss in die den Prozess der Selbstverherrlichung und Selbstrechtfertigung der Menschen. Es lässt sich unschwer nachweisen, dass die Atheisten wutentbrannt waren über das öffentliche Sterben Papst Johannes II. und über den Erfolg der ersten Jahre des Pontifikats von Benedikt XVI. Deshalb haben sie alle Mittel und Wege benützt, um diesen Einfluss zurück zu drängen. Ihre Machenschaften haben gerade in den letzten Tagen ein hohes Maß an Gehässigkeit und Feindschaft erreicht. Umso dringlicher wird es für die Getreuen, dass sie auf den Hirten schauen und das Lamm, und auf sein Wort und seine Stimme hören. Das erfolgt vornehmlich in der Anbetung. Die Verehrung der Eucharistie und die Anbetung des anwesenden Herrn, halten letztendlich die Herde zusammen, sei es die konkrete Gemeinde vor Ort oder die große Kirche weltweit.
Der Kehrvers fasst es so zusammen: „Freut euch, wir sind Gottes Volk; erwählt durch seine Gnade.“ (GL 646,1)
